The Wall is a boy’s story of growing up in Czechoslovakia, behind the iron curtain.  There are scattered thoughts and facts along side photos on each page.  The boy tells of life when he was younger, how his government programmed the young to think.  Then he moves into how the world was changing and so were the young people of Czechoslovakia.  They were now questioning and rebelling against all they had been taught.  This was a book I really enjoyed.  Not only was it a good read but it also gave so much relevant information to the time it was written.  I would defiantly recommend this book to anyone who asked or was looking for a book on this topic.  This to me is a book for an older audience, third grade and up.  There was also very descriptive artwork on every page of the book that was illustrated by the author.  It does have a strong text to world connection.  While younger students will not remember the falling of the wall, adult will relate and be able to elaborate more to students.  I have not read any other text about this subject or in this type of unique format.  While I cannot relate to it personally, I can take a lot information away from read it.
